The Weekly Pulse: June 30 – July 4, 2026
Palm oil extends its run to $940/t, robusta coffee firms on Ugandan and Cameroonian supply concerns, and the BRVM Composite holds near 201.
The agricultural complex led the week. Palm oil added 2.40% to approximately $940 per tonne and robusta coffee 1.77% to around $5,180 per tonne — both relevant to Cameroon, which produces meaningful volumes of each.

Equities
The BRVM Composite held near 201.4, up 5.8% year to date. The Douala exchange index was little changed at approximately 1,840, a 3.2% year-to-date gain on turnover that remains very thin.
The week's most significant development
Robusta's strength is a Central and East African story. Uganda and Cameroon are the continent's principal robusta growers, and Africa supplies roughly 12% of the global coffee crop. A sustained move above $5,000 per tonne changes the economics for smallholders who have spent a decade being told to diversify away from the crop.
